What’s in the Halloween Night Survival Kit?

Each kit is built for trick-or-treat night, with something for parents and something for kids:

  • A reflective safety sash for parents, so drivers can see you after dark
  • Glow bracelets for kids, so they’re easy to spot in a crowd or on a dark street
  • Halloween treats and surprises
  • A few extra fun and useful items. CARE Group may add to the kit as Halloween gets closer.

When and where do you pick it up?

  • Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026 (Halloween)
  • Time: 5:00 to 7:00 PM
  • Location: Heroes (San Marino) Park, 6200 San Rolando Circle, Buena Park

Pickup is in person only. The 5:00 to 7:00 PM window is timed so you can grab your kit, put on the glow bracelets and sash, and head straight out trick-or-treating.

Who can get a kit?

Any family with kids. You don’t have to live in Buena Park, and you don’t have to be buying or selling a home. The only requirement is that you can pick it up in person at Heroes (San Marino) Park on Halloween.

How do you reserve a kit?

  1. Go to the Halloween Night Survival Kit page.
  2. Fill out the reservation form.
  3. Pick up your kit on October 31, 2026, between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.

Quantities are limited. Reserving ahead is the best way to make sure there’s a kit waiting for your family.

Halloween night safety tips for families

The kit covers visibility. These simple habits cover the rest of the night:

  • Be seen. Wear the reflective sash and put glow bracelets on every child before it gets dark. Dark costumes are hard for drivers to see.
  • Bring a flashlight. A phone light works, but a small flashlight leaves your phone free and your battery full.
  • Stay on sidewalks and cross at corners. Walk facing traffic if there’s no sidewalk, and cross together.
  • Plan your route ahead of time. Stick to well-lit streets you know.
  • Make sure costumes fit. Hems that drag and masks that block vision are tripping hazards. Face paint is a good alternative to masks.
  • Check the candy at home. Go through treats before kids dig in, and set aside anything opened or unwrapped.
  • Agree on a meeting spot. Older kids heading out with friends should know where and when to check in.

Is CARE Group doing anything else for Halloween?

Yes. CARE Group is also running a free Kids Halloween Coloring Contest for Kindergarten through 6th grade, open to everyone. Entries are due Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM PDT, and three winners each get a $50 Amazon gift card.

Why does a real estate team give away Halloween kits?

Because CARE Group’s work happens in neighborhoods, and Halloween is the one night a year when the whole neighborhood is out on the sidewalks after dark. A reflective sash and a few glow bracelets are a small thing that makes families easier to see. This has nothing to do with buying or selling a home. It’s a way for CARE Group to show up for Buena Park, Cerritos, and the surrounding communities beyond real estate.
